Jan Lindsay of the Ventura East Club has been named District Governor Elect for 2004-05. Jan was a speaker at our club a year ago. His wife's name is Pamela. The Centennial project for our three Rotary Clubs in the Valley has been registered with Rotary International. The project consists of purchasing and installing a children's playground at the proposed new Triangle Park on Alamo Pintado Road. First message from King Richard. I thought that being elected President of this club was about as high an honor as I would ever realize - but now I am King Richard, thanks to Jeff Cotter's creativity. I am not sure sure at this point which is the greater honor. We shall see. We all owe a debt of gratitude to past President Bob Moir and his 4th of July committee for their outstanding fireworks event. From all the unofficial preliminary comments I have received, it was the best yet. Congratulations Bob. Our first Board Meeting was held on Tues. the 9th and, as I expected, the board was enthusiastic and promised some really notable goals for the coming year.
