Sow the Seeds of Love

Be sure to read RI President Bhichai Rattahul’s article on this theme on page 20 of the July issue of The Rotarian.  He says, “Love is the motivating force behind all of Rotary’s best work”.

Eradicate Polio By 2005

Only 537 cases of polio case reported in the entire world in 2001.  The goal of eradicating polio is within our reach.  The final push is on.  “Fulfilling our promise, Eradicate polio”, was launched at the RI Convention in Barcelona, Spain last month.
Ten countries still have polio cases: Afghanistan, Angola, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Niger, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somolia, and Sudan  (see map on page 25 of The Rotarian, July issue).
One country Angola has been involved in civil war for decades.  Recently a peace accord was reached.  Hopefully all children will soon receive the polio vaccine.
